Rebenhof Sputnik III 2018
|
🟠
Complex and deep orange wines with very nice acidity that balances out the multi-layered structure. Soft tannins, hints of herbs, caramel, oaky notes, long stable finish. Made with biodynamic sauvignon blanc grapes by 1 year-long semi-carbonic maceration process in closed vats under pressure (very rare method for orange wines) and 2 years ageing in oak barrels. No added sulphur. Taste profile evolves over days and weeks even after opening - one of a kind! Sold out in Europe but we managed to lay our hands on limited quantities! Weingut Rebenhof is located along the southern Styrian wine route in Austria and Harti emphasises natural practices such as biodynamic farming, no additions (e.g. enzymes, cultured yeasts), low yields, long aging in both steel and Austrian oak, and wines that often lean into skin contact and field blends rather than strict varietal conventions. His philosophy is one of connectedness to the land and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of what Styrian wine can express while maintaining rigorous biodynamic methods and sustainable practices.

Cotar Terra Rosa 2013
|
🔴
A special red blend featuring the local Teran grape, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Medium to full bodied red, ruby red with a purple hue in colour. Intense fruity bouquet of plums, black fruits, with a hint of earth, smoke and coffee. Spicy, fresh acidity typical of Slovenian Karst wines. Soft in the mouth with silky tannins but also complex and intense, long aftertaste. Mature wine that has aged for 7 years in 1500L wooden barrels and 2 years in the bottle. Further storage potential is excellent. Terra Rossa means 'red soil', which reflects the Karst region's iron-rich red top soil over limestone from maritime fossils.

Sweet aroma of orange peel, peaches and vanilla. Palate is savoury, mineral with balsamic tensions and nice tannins. Great aging potential, but why wait? 5 months skin maceration from September to January in underground amphora, aged 18 months in large wooden barrel. We are bringing back one of our most popular orange wines from our first drop! Vini Felici Zibibbo 2022
|
🟠
Our first Zibibbo and it’s a stunning one! Located in between Sicily and Tunisia (North Africa), the island of Pantelleria is the spiritual home of Zibibbo. This dry muscat wine is especially fresh, light and aromatic, with notes of elderflower, tropical fruits, nutmeg, raisin, sweet spice. Maceration for 3 days, and fermented and aged for 1 year on the yeast. The Zibbibo grape, also known as Muscat of Alexandria, is one of the oldest known and rarest grapes in the world. It’s a ‘triple threat’ - a wine grape, table grape and raisin grape all in one. Its extreme adaptability is the main reason for its 5,000 years of history. In Pantelleria, the grapes are grown in low bush vines to protect them from strong winds - a UNESCO-recognised agricultural method.

Rugged terrain means all cultivation is done by hand. Good concentration of fruit. Blackberries, blueberries, cherries, saline, touch of pepper. Fresh but complex and a lot to unpack.
